MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAAY) – Big changes, and a big victory, for a bill that would legalize a form of medical marijuana here in Alabama.
The bill, known as Carly’s Law, was changed into a $1 million dollar medical study that would provide marijuana oil, also known as CBD oil, to treat epileptic seizures.
UAB will oversee the study, and doctors will be able to prescribe the oil to patients.
Tuesday night, the Senate passed the bill unanimously.
It’s expected to pass the House easily.
