Grön, a fast-growing cannabis edibles brand, has officially acquired an adult-use processor license in New York. This move transitions the company from its earlier “reverse licensing” approach, where it partnered with local license holders, to full ownership and operational control in the state.
The Type 2 Processor license grants Grön the ability to manufacture its full line of cannabis edibles at a newly secured facility in Hauppauge, Long Island. This marks a pivotal moment for the company’s East Coast strategy, providing a central hub to distribute products more efficiently to New York City and neighboring markets.
Hauppauge Facility Set to Boost Innovation and Job Creation
Grön’s new 10,000+ square-foot facility will serve as the core of its New York operations. The space is expected to streamline production, meet growing consumer demand, and support future product rollouts tailored to local preferences.
The company has already introduced solventless hash rosin-infused edibles to the state and now plans to fast-track additional innovations with the help of its expanded infrastructure. Beyond product development, the facility is also expected to bring new employment opportunities to Suffolk County.
Grön Aligns with State’s Push for Cannabis Innovation
The acquisition comes as New York’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) continues efforts to support cannabis industry growth and innovation. With its new license, Grön is positioned to contribute to the state’s evolving cannabis landscape and help define the future of the edibles segment.
Grön’s presence in New York began in 2024, and the company’s latest move signals a deeper commitment to the region, both in terms of product development and long-term investment.
