Premier consumer cannabis provider Curaleaf has officially begun adult use sales at its Hudson Valley dispensary in Newburgh, New York. This comes as the first retail location for the company in the state to accommodate both medical and adult use consumers. The dispensary, located at 8 North Plank Road, offers customers the opportunity to buy products through in-person visits or delivery services.
Since 2017, Curaleaf has supported medical patients throughout New York with their high-quality cannabis products and services. As it embarks on this new venture, it aims to strengthen its relationship with the greater Newburgh community while meeting the needs of non-medical users.
New Facilities to Meet Growing Demand
Before opening its doors to adult use consumers, Curaleaf Hudson Valley underwent significant facility expansion. An extra 1,750 square feet were added to the existing 3,500-square-foot building, bringing the total space to 5,250 square feet. It now features a separate sales floor area, product vault, increased parking space, and an improved point-of-sale system. As part of the renovation process, Curaleaf will also offer a wide array of diverse products such as vapes, edibles, and flower, catering to various tastes and preferences.
Social Justice and Equity Initiatives
In addition to providing high-quality cannabis products, Curaleaf has integrated several workforce and educational initiatives focusing on social justice and equity. The company aims to employ at least 10% of all hires from communities affected by the War on Drugs, demonstrating its commitment to addressing ongoing disparities in these areas.
To mark this significant foray into adult use sales, a Grand Opening event is planned for February 9th, 2024 at 12 PM ET.
